Job Summary: To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Battery Staff Engineer located in Shenzhen, to qualify and model the battery cells include but are not limit to Lithium-ion battery and support the development of BBU (Battery Backup Unit) product. The Battery Engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams such as firmware, mechanical, thermal, electrical, safety and manufacturing. What a typical day looks like: Technically lead the selection and feasibility evaluation of battery cells for new project. Develop battery performance qualification plan and requirement for test equipment, program… Collecting, organizing, processing, and analyzing large quantities of battery cell test data to evaluate battery cell performance. Model battery cells on but not limit to cycle life, storage life, SOH, thermal, DCIR… Provide data input and idea for battery algorithm development such as Fuel Gauge… Coordinate activities of engineering teams to resolve issues Support manufacturing and QC departments on matters involving tooling design, test standard and criterial definition. Manage and audit battery cell suppliers. Study on new battery technology. Technical training to cross-function team. The experience we’re looking to add to our team: Master’s or Bachelor’s degree majored in Electrochemical or Electrical. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the field of Lithium-ion battery application. Better understanding on battery compliance standard and testing. Experience with failure analysis methods such as fault tree analysis. Working knowledge of engineering tools/methods such as Mathcad, Minitab… Be familiar with battery cell qualification equipment and process. Can reading ,writing in English Preferred Additional Experience: Experience on BMS design. Experience on development of switching power supply. Experience on development of Fuel Gauge algorithm.
